Computer engineer held with cocaine

Murtza Khan was apprehended near Palam airport on Tuesday on a tip off, Sanjay Kumar Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.

Khan told the police that about 20 years ago he had gone to Dubai to earn money and to assist his family financially. He had worked in Dubai as a Computer Hardware Engineer in different firms.

In 2006, he shifted to Mumbai permanently and last year due to family dispute, his wife divorced him. This affected him badly and landed him in financial crisis, Khan said.

"About six months ago, Naved, one of Khan's distant relatives, who was into supplying of drugs to his clients across the country, lured him into drug trade. To earn quick money, Khan started supplying cocaine to the clients of Naved," Jain said.

 

On Tuesday, he came to Delhi from Mumbai in the evening flight and allegedly to deliver cocaine.
