Computer operator, two touts arrested on bribe charges

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a computer operator and two touts while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 45,000 in Neemrana tehsil at Alwar for facilitating a land registry.

The accused were identified as Rohit Sharma and touts, Papu and Arvind, a spokesperson said.

In his complaint, one Rajesh Kumar told the ACB that the trio had demanded Rs 50,000 to get his land registered in the said Tehsil and the deal was struck at Rs 45,000, he said.

The ACB laid a trap there and arrested trio allegedly while accepting the bribe, the spokesperson said, adding, a case under prevention of corruption act has been lodged against them.
 

During preliminary probe, computer operator allegedly disclosed names of a tehsildar and tehsil registrar, who were to be paid the amount through him and touts, the spokesperson said.

The ACB was also searching Tehsildar and Registrar of Neemrana to ascertain their suspected role in the deal, he added.
