Container Corporation of India Ltd today said the logistics major is planning to set up its first integrated logistics and manufacturing zone (ILMZ) over 1,000 acres in Andhra Pradesh.
The project is at a formative stage and the investment amount is yet to be finalised, CONCOR chairman and managing director V Kalyana Rama told PTI.
"ILMZ is an idea to boost the Make-in-India concept. We will offer specialised service of managing the entire inward and outward logistics requirements for raw materials and finished goods, enabling companies to focus on their core competency of manufacturing," he said.

CONCOR is looking to build the ILMZ at Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh, and an MoU has been signed with the state government in this regard, the top company official said.
The proposed port at Machilipatnam also boosts the viability of the project, he said.
About 80-85 per cent of the zone is likely to be earmarked for manufacturing activities, while the rest would be utilised for logistics facilities.
Kalyana Rama, who was in the city for a CII Logistics Colloquium, said CONCOR has plans to build four to six such zones across the country.
"We will be offering common facilities and depending on need and demand, we may assist the companies in building factories," he said.
The company was also planning to set up 20 logistics centres across India, each on about 250 acres of land.
