Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today claimed that the condition of the police stations in the state was pitiable as there was hardly any proper infrastructure before 2005 when he assumed power.
Addressing a police event here, Kumar said that there was no paper to register FIR in the police stations and the vehicles could start only after being pushed from behind.
Now the policemen were given vehicles as well as arms and ammunition to maintain law and order in the state, he said, adding that there should be at least 40 policemen in a police station to keep it on alert round-the-clock.
He said, "Nobody will be allowed to play with rule of law. Rule of law is foundation of governance. If foundation is weak the entire structure will be weak.
