Congress leader Ambika Soni and Shiromani Akali Dal's Balwinder Singh Bhunder were today 'elected unopposed' to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab.
The current terms of Soni and Bhunder, who are sitting Rajya Sabha members, end on July 4.
"Both Soni and Bhunder have been declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha," Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretary, Shashi Lakhan Pal Mishra said.

Soni was accompanied by senior Punjab Congress leaders including Leader of Opposition in State Assembly Charanjit Singh Channi, Jagmohan Singh Kang, Randeep Singh Nabha, Brahm Mohindra, among others.
Bhunder was accompanied by senior Akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa and other SAD leaders.
The scrutiny of the nominations was held on June 1 and today was the last date for withdrawal of candidature after which the two candidates were declared elected.
