Punjab Congress today questioned the BJP that why had Union Minister Arun Jaitley, who unsuccessfully contested from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat, not visited the city for over a month.

Congress leaders, in a joint statement, questioned Punjab Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi as why had Union Finance and Defence Minister Jaitley not visited the city for over a month even after becoming the minister.

Pointing out that Congress leader Amarinder Singh, who won the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat and unlike Jaitley did not go anywhere, they said Singh remained here even on the day of counting and after the results were declared.

"Now, let Joshi tell us when was Jaitley last seen in or around Amritsar," they said.

Joshi had reportedly questioned the absence of Singh from Amritsar recently, annoying Congress leaders who hit back at the Punjab BJP Minister.
