Taking potshots at Congress, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said, "Congress has shed its arrogance and is meeting its allies.

"Even if it is on the pretext of presidential elections, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and Sonia Gandhi have met after a long time."

He also pointed out that Congress-led UPA had not held any formal talks with the opposition on the issue.

Reacting sharply to it, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said that the Opposition party is yet to come over its defeats in Lok Sabha elections 2004 and 2009 "and hence making such statements".

Reminding BJP of desertion of NDA constituents in the last few years, Tewari said that whenever there are talks of formation of Third Front or Fourth Front, it is by parties which had been once allies or friends of BJP.

"They should introspect within. We have always behaved nicely and with dignity with our UPA allies," Tewari said. PTI AMR RC
