Cong, BJP welcome court order in twin blasts case

BJP and Congress Monday lauded a local court order sentencing two terrorists convicted in the 2007 Hyderabad twin blasts case to death and another to life imprisonment.

Hailing the verdict, deputy floor leader of Congress in Telangana Legislative Council P Sudhakar Reddy said the verdict would send a tough message to perpetrators in such terror activities.

BJP's floor leader in the dissolved Telangana Legislative Assembly G Kishan Reddy welcomed the punishment and said appropriate punishments should be handed out to those who participate in such terror activities.

A metropolitan court here sentenced two terrorists convicted in the 2007 Hyderabad twin blasts case to death and another to life imprisonment Monday.

 

Two powerful explosions had ripped through a popular eatery and an open air theatre here on August 25, 2007, killing 44 people and wounding 68.
