As soon as the announcement to this effect was made at the venue by Congress chief spokesman Janardan Dwivedi, thousands of NSUI, Youth Congress workers as well as partymen, who assembled at different places near the Birla auditorium, broke into celebrations.
The sky was dazzled with a series of colourful fireworks and the young workers congratulated each other.
A truck decorated with the posters and banners containing the picture of Rahul Gandhi and flags of NSUI was brought outside the venue by NSUI leader Pawan Godara and his supporters ahead of the announcement.
A large number of college-going youths, including girls, danced outside the venue to welcome the decision of the party to make Rahul Gandhi the Vice President.
