Congress today condemned the lodging of FIR against Union Minister Pradeep Jain Aditya and 300 others for allegedly blocking national highway in Jhansi during protest against power crisis and said the cases were lodged out of political vendetta.
"Jain and his supporters were staging a peaceful protest to attract government's attention towards acute power crisis in the state, but cases were lodged against them out of political vendetta and it should be immediately withdrawn," UPCC president Nirmal Khatri said in a statment here.
A case of rioting was filed against the Union Minister of State for Rural Development and 300 other Congress workers for allegedly blocking National Highway 25 near Paricha thermal power plant over four hours on Tuesday night, disrupting traffic on the route.
