"We have noted that the chief minister has been critical in her Independence day speech against the Centre. It is amazing that her party will remain in UPA but will openly criticise the central government. This is not done. She should restrain herself," WBPCC president Pradip Bhattacharya told reporters here.

He said she has to be more careful of her own state instead of being aggressive against the Centre.

The WBPCC chief criticised the chief minister for an alleged spurt in crime rate with more cases of atrocities against women being reported 'almost every day'.

"We would like to request the chief minister to safeguard women in our state before being critical of the Centre," he said.
