Cong demands CBI enquiry into alleged fraud in BDO office

An FIR has been lodged by the current BDO on September 19

Congress has demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged financial irregularity of Rs 17 crore in the Bishalgarh Block Development Office of Tripura in 2013.

A delegation of the party, led by Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Diba Chandra Hrankhawl on Tuesday met Governor P Balakrishna Acharya and demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularity.

"The governor gave a patient hearing and assured us of taking appropriate action," Hrankhawl told reporters on Wednesday.

IG (Police Control) Nepal Das said an FIR had been lodged by the current BDO on September 19 in connection with the alleged irregularities and many documents were seized from the Block Development Office yesterday.
