A memorandum seeking to de-recognize AAP as a political party was today submitted by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee to local Sub-Divisional Magistrate, alleging that AAP wanted to trigger "communal riots" in Punjab for "petty political gains".

The delegation, led by PPCC member Jarnail Nangal, submitted the memorandum to SDM Balbir Raj Singh to forward it to the President, Election Commission of India and Punjab Governor.

Nangal said AAP's recognition as political party be scrapped as they allegedly wanted to trigger communal riots in Punjab for petty political gains.

"Booking of AAP's Delhi MLA Naresh Yadav in Malerkotla Quran desecration case is enough to prove that AAP had sinister designs for a communal flare-up in Punjab," he said.

PPCC General Secretary Balbir Raja Sodhi also accompanied the deputation.
