Senior Congress leader Manikrao Thakre today sought resignation of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over his government's "failure" to check suicides of farmers and other issues concerning the common man.
"Fadnavis has no control over the administration. His government has failed on all fronts, leading to increased burden on the common man and farmers," the former state unit Congress president said while addressing reporters.
He said the BJP government is "insensitive" towards the problems faced by the farmers, particularly in drought-hit districts like Yavatmal.

The Congress leader reiterated his party's demand for complete loan waiver for farmers in the state.
He said, "the recent move by the Central government to increase prices of petrol, diesel and LPG has increased the burden on the common man manifold".
"Both the state and Central governments make hollow promises like smoke of a cigarette in air," Thakre said.
He said that in the ongoing Kharif season, the farmers are running from the pillar to post for financial aid as per the norms laid down under the drought-hit category.
"The government has given only oral instructions to the bankers, but no written order is passed sanctioning fresh crop loans to the distressed farmers," Thakre said.
