Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today demanded immediate release of salaries of the employees recruited under the Prime Minister's employment package in the Valley and sought Governor N N Vohra's intervention into the matter.
"We demand the release of salaries of PM package employees in Kashmir valley immediately," Pradesh Congress Committee Migrant Cell (JKPCMC) Convener Ghulam Qadir Bhat told reporters here.
Bhat claimed that the PM package employees have not been getting salaries for the last three months and are facing hardships as the government has failed to provide proper accommodation to them.

Bhat asked, when other employees draw salaries at the end of every month then why remunerations for PM package employees are being delayed.
Some employees have been posted in remote and far off areas while couples working in separate districts have not been posted in the same district as was earlier assured by the government, he alleged.
J&K Congress has appealled to Governor N N Vohra to look into the problems of PM package employees and settle it at the earliest, he said.
Replying to questions, Azad said there was no need to
appoint any new committee or working group to go into the problems faced by the state, but government should implement the recommendations and suggestions of such working groups constituted during the UPA rule.
"It is important to win the hearts and minds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir," was the refrain of Azad.
He said it was time for the Prime Minister to act after listening to the views of all political parties.
Azad made it clear that at this juncture, no poliical party is making any prestige issue.
"We want situation in Kashmir to normalise. It is not a time when we should find faults with the government," he added.
