Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot today said Congress could win most of the seats going to bypolls on September 13.

Claiming that the Vasundhara Raje-ld BJP government could not do any remarkable work, Gehlot said Congress was giving a tough fight to BJP in the coming bypolls.

Bypolls are to be held in Kota South, Weir, Surajgarh and Nasirabad Assembly constituencies.

Gehlot also attacked BJP for misusing government machinery in the polls.

"Congress is giving a tough fight to BJP and can wrest most of the seats. As far as BJP is concerned, it is misusing government machinery. 20-25 BJP MLAs are present in each constituency," he told reporters here.

The state government led by Vasundhara Raje could not do any remarkable work because many important decisions were taken by his previous government, he claimed, and blamed the government for not implementing properly welfare schemes launched by his dispensation including free medicines scheme.

On the nearly two-month long lawyers' strike, Gehlot said the government should take initiative to resolve the issues as the strike was causing inconvenience to people.
