"By announcing loans at zero per cent for farmers after Chouhan ended his fast on June 16, he violated the model code of conduct," Ajay said in the complaint.
Since the elections have been announced and with that the poll code also coming into force, the announcement made by Chouhan amounts to violation of the rule, Ajay said.
The polls to 49 municipal bodies in 16 districts will be held in two phases on June 28 and June 30, and counting will take place on July 2 and July 4, respectively.
Chouhan had announced last week "zero per cent rate of interest" on loans given to farmers since April 1 this year.
Ajay had earlier appealed the Election Commission to take suo motu note of the "sops" announced by the Chief Minister under the guise of interest-free loans.
