Gujarat unit of Congress today lodged a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner against BJP's Uttar Pradesh in-charge and Narendra Modi aide Amit Shah for alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct, a party leader said here.

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) legal convener Nikunj Balar said Shah conducted a meeting with senior Congress leader Jagdambika Pal at Gujarat Bhavan in New Delhi today.

"Gujarat Bhavan is a state-owned property and cannot be used for any political purpose. As the poll code is in force, any use of public property for any political agenda is prohibited," said Balar who has drafted the complaint.

He said the complaint has been forwarded to CEC, New Delhi, for further action.
