Cong finalises state election panel for Jharkhand

Congress today finalised the state election committee and manifesto committee for Jharkhand, where Assembly elections are scheduled to be held by the end of this year.

Congress, along with RJD, is part of a coalition government in the tribal state headed by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.

Former Minister Subodhkant Sahay, PCC chief Sukhdeo Bhagat, CLP leader Rajendra Prasad Singh, ex-PCC chiefs Sarfaraz Ahmed and Pradip Kumar Balmuchu, Furkan Ansari, Gitashree Oraon, Alamgir Alam and Manoj Yadav are among those who have been named to the 18-member state election committee.

The chiefs of all the wings of the party in the state have been made special invitees to the panel.
 

Congress President Sonia Gandhi also approved a five- member manifesto committee for the state.
