To counter the BJP's 'Parivartan Rath Yatra', the Himachal Pradesh Congress today started 'path' yatras from all the constituencies in the run-up to the state Assembly polls due later this year.

The roadshows would highlight the achievements of the Virbhadra Singh government in the state in the last four-and- a-half years.

They would also "expose the failures" of the NDA government at the Centre, said Himachal Congress president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who flagged off the yatra at Galore.

State ministers Vidya Stokes, Thakur Kaul Singh and Dhani Ram Shandil and other Congress MLAs also flagged off the yatras from their respective constituencies.

Sukhu described the move as a "befitting reply" to the BJP, which he alleged was launching various campaigns to "malign" the Himachal government.
