The state unit of Congress today accused the Jammu and Kashmir government of failing to provide timely ration to Kashmiri migrants and demanded an increase in the monthly financial assistance given to them.
"The state government has failed to provide ration to the Kashmiri migrants because of which they are facing several hardships," Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir said.
"The government must also increase the monthly financial assistance given to them," he added.

Mir claimed that several representatives of Kashmiri migrants told him that the government has failed to provide them ration for the month of April, whereas in the past it used to be supplied well in time.
"The ration for the month of April is yet to be issued to them," Mir alleged.
He claimed that the "delay" in the release of ration was causing problems for the migrants, especially those belonging to weaker economic section.
"BJP, which used to shed crocodile tears for the cause of Kashmiri migrants, has failed to ensure timely supply of ration which is the basic necessity for people.
"Both the state government and the Centre should take immediate steps to ensure supply of ration to the migrants," Mir said.
