Two persons, including a local Congress functionary, died today when their car plunged into a roadside well near Viralipatti in this district today.
Police said Ravichandran, the Congress party's Madurai North district secretary, who is a building contractor, and his relative died on the spot.
Ravichandran, who bought a new car recently and was learning to drive, had taken his relative in the vehicle.He lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve and plunged into the well,police said.
