Buoyed by BJP massive victory in five Municipal Corporations and for posts of Chairman and Vice Chairman in Municipal and Panchayat councils, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today descrived Congress as an ""xpiry party" just like medicine whose date has lapsed.
Attributing the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development policies, Das said that 2019 general election will be fought on the on the agenda of development.
The Jharkhand CM was talking to reporters after BJP sweeping the five Municipal Corporation elections and 26 posts of chairman and vice-chairman for the municipal council and panchayat council elections out of a total 34 civic bodies.
Making a scathing attack at Congress, Das said it has become an "expiry party" just like a medicine becoming ineffective following its expiry date".
He challenged the opposition for an open debate on any issue and said the Congress believed in family and dynastic politics and not democracy.
"The people are hungry for development and 2019 general elections will also be fought on the issue of sabka vikas, sabka saath (development for all, together with all)"in Indian politics there is only one leader, (that is), Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who thinks for the poorest of the poor," Das said at a press conference here.
"The people have enormous faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not only that India is also playing a significant role at the international level under his leadership," he said.
The opposition has nothing but mud-slinging against Modi, but the lotus will always bloom as much the mud slung at BJP, Das said.
