A Congress leader from Telangana has accused state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of using the land of Osmania University for a housing scheme, saying the government should instead free other land under encroachment and use it for the project.
In a letter to Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said the varsity has been under encroachment.
"It is the duty of the state government to remove the said encroachers and restore back to the university. Instead of that, the present government is planning to take away the land for construction of houses for poor and economically backwards, SCs and STs.
