Joining the chorus by local DMK workers against the candidature of former minister T P Mohideen Khan frm Palayamkottai assembly constituency here, a Congress functionary today said a strong candidate should be fielded by the Dravidian party.

The agitations against the DMK candidate would only create confusion among the voters and hence the DMK high command should put an end to it by changing the candidate, Tirunelveli Urban Congress Committee President K Ramanath told reporters here.

He said he was confident that the DMK-Congress front will win in all the ten constituencies in the district provided the "weak" candidate fielded in Palayamkottai was replaced with a strong candidate.
