Congress today demanded a CBI probe against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in connection with the alleged irregularities in selections by the state recruitment board and submitted a memorandum on the same to President Pranab Mukherjee.
Leaders from Congress's Madhya Pradesh unit also held a protest at Jantar Mantar here saying they did not have confidence in the probe being carried out by the STF of Madhya Pradesh.
"We have submitted a memorandum seeking a CBI probe into the matter. Besides party MLAs from the state, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Suresh Pachuri were also present for that," Congress leader Shobha Oza told PTI.

Earlier in the day, Jaivardhan Singh, Congress MLA and son of senior party leader Digvijay Singh, and others held a protest at Jantar Mantar.
"In Independent India's history, MPPEB is the biggest scam related to education and government positions. The board has been clearly manipulated and the state government has misused its power," charged Jaivardhan.
"The whole case is being handled by STF, which directly reports to Shivraj Singh. So, how can we expect a fair trial? We demand a proper CBI trial into this case; MPPEB scam is just the tip of the iceberg of corruption in Madhya Pradesh government," he claimed.
He also alleged that the Chief Minister was the "kingpin" of the scam.
Congress PCC chief Arun Yadav targeted Chouhan with party leaders like Satyadev Katare (CLP leader) and Oza also present at the protest.
Alleged irregularities have come to light in recruitments done by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), which is responsible for conducting selection tests for various state government jobs, including for teachers.
