A week after parliament gave its nod to the Telangana Bill, Congress central leadership today held a crucial meeting with Seemandhra state ministers.

The meeting, chaired by AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, deliberated on a slew of issues concerning Seemandhra region in which central ministes such as Jairam Ramesh and J D Seelam were present.

According to sources, Seemandhra ministers raised certain issues pertaining to development of the region which had not figured in the Telengana Bill.

A leader, who was present in the meeting, however, claimed most of the demands of the state ministers was already included in the Bill.

Other issues, including one pertaining to constitution of two separate Pradesh Congress committees for Seemandhra and Telengana, was also discussed.

"More than 15 ministers from Seemandhra region were present at the meeting. However, a small section of ministers, who are likely to align with former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, did not participate in the meeting," a leader said.

The central leadership, which had held meetings for the last two days, is expected to convene a few more such exercises to sort out the issues including constitution of separate committees.
