Cong, Left stage walkout over CM's absence in Bengal Assembly

Mamata, who was to give a reply to a debate on police budget, came to the Assembly before start of proceedings for the second half

Press Trust of India Kolkata
Both CPI(M) and Left Front legislators today staged a walk-out from the West Bengal Assembly protesting the absence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during Question Hour.

Banerjee, who was to give a reply to a debate on police budget, came to the Assembly before start of proceedings for the second half.

Left legislators alleged that despite repeated demands for the Chief Minister's presence in the House during Question Hour, Banerjee failed to make an appearance for a number of times.

However, Left Front and Congress MLAs returned to the House in the second half.
