A Congress member today accused the SAD-BJP government in Punjab of failing to take action against those who tried to grab a land belonging to a church in Ludhiana.

Raising the issue in the Lok Sabha, Ravneet Singh said the 180-year-old building was damaged when some men tried to grab the land belonging to the church.

He alleged that despite repeated attempts the SAD-BJP government paid no attention to the issue.

Raising the issue as 'matter of urgent public importance', the MP said the church was targeted after communal tension in Delhi and Agra.

On Wednesday some people had allegedly tried to storm Kalvari church over a land dispute.
