Congress leader P T Thomas, MP, today underwent an urgent angioplasty at a private hospital here after he developed chest pain while on his way for campaigning, and hospital sources said his condition was stable.
The 64-year-old Thomas, who is contesting from Chalakuddy constituency in Ernakulam district, developed chest pain while on his way to Kasargode for electioneering this morning and he was rushed to the hospital.
He was subjected to an urgent angioplasty, doctors attending to him said, adding, his condition was 'stable' now and there was nothing to worry.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy called on Thomas at the hospital, hospital sources said.
In the previous polls, Thomas was elected to the Lok Sabha from Idukki constituency.
