BJP today said former coal secretary P C Parakh's question as to why the Prime Minister should not be considered as a third conspirator in the alleged coal scam, must be answered by CBI and Congress government.

"I want to know from the Congress what is their reply to Parakh's question. Why is CBI selective in its action? Is it an attempt to divert attention to protect bigger fish," senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said at a press conference.

Former coal secretary P C Parakh who has been charged with conspiracy and corruption, had stated that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was the final decision maker and so he must be counted as a "conspirator", prompting the BJP to demand a through probe.

Naidu said CBI's credibility has gone down during the UPA regime since the agency is being used to settle political scores.
