Denying reports that he would be projected as candidate for Chief Minister's post, Scindia said, "I am touring the state as a party leader.

"To prevent the ruling BJP from coming back to power for the third time in a row, it is absolutely necessary for party leaders and workers to remain united and for that state Congress President Kantilal Bhuria has a major role to play," he said.

Targeting the BJP government, he said eight years ago BJP had promised uninterrupted power, but even today electricity was available in rural areas only for three hours and in urban areas there is always shortage.

This was the situation when the state was getting 500-600 MW of unallocated power, he added.
