The Congress' first aim was to decimate the AAP in Delhi, which is "evident" from the Rajouri Garden bypoll result, and it will do the same to the BJP in municipal polls, senior leader Jairam Ramesh today said.
Ramesh said this while he visited Bhalaswa landfill site in north Delhi, along with Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken.
"Congress' first aim was to decimate the AAP in Delhi, which is evident from the Rajouri Garden bypoll result. The party's next aim is the BJP, which will be seen in the MCD elections," the former minister was quoted as saying in a statement by the DPCC.

He said voters have seen that BJP is a "Bharatiya Jumla Party" and the Prime Minister makes "tall promises" in his speeches, but "nothing is evident at the ground-level".
Ramesh said the Congress party will carry forward its fight to make Bhalaswa a zero-landfill area, and build a green park there for children to play.
Maken said Ramesh, who is also an expert in environmental matters, has helped the Delhi Congress in drawing up a roadmap for solid waste management and sanitation, which the party is taking forward to the people in the run-up to the MCD polls.
Ramesh said it was his second visit to the landfill site, as the first was when he was Union Environment Minister.
He said he had told the then Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to create a green playground for children at the site in the next three to four years and she had said that it was a very good suggestion, but you have to tackle the issue with the MCD as "I am tired of telling them about it".
He said "talks with the MCD continued for 2-3 years, but nothing could be done".
The central government was ready to sanction the funds, but it was the MCD's job to execute the work, he added.
He said when he became Union Urban and Rural Development Minister in 2013, he took up the issue with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, but "did not get any positive response from Kejriwal either".
