Opposition Congress today urged the union territory government to ensure that each of the households which bore the brunt of the recent torrential rains was provided quantum of relief according to the damages they suffered in floods.
Leader of the Opposition in the assembly V.Vaithilingam said he had made a representation to Lt Governor A K Singh yesterday persuading him to sanction relief on the basis of the damages.
He said that the Lt Governor told him that unless the Chief Minister placed before him the quantum of relief household wise nothing could be done.
