Congress today rejected the new industrial policy rolled out by Punjab government, claiming complete absence of measures for giving boost to state's industries, which are "heavily burdened with high taxes".
PPCC President Partap Singh Bajwa alleged the SAD-BJP government has failed to establish its credibility among investors, who have refraining to enter in Punjab due to "deteriorating law and order and corruption".
Most of the existing industries are already shifting to states like Gujarat and the new industrial policy will "trigger the exodus", he claimed.

He claimed the policy will prove to be a "death knell" for small scale industries, which are on the brink of closure due to absence of a "proper policy" by the state government.
"Since Punjab is a land locked state, promoting small scale industry would have been the best option to boost state's economy and provide employment to the skilled youth," he said.
Bajwa said the tax incentives announced will prove to be counter-productive "in the absence of conducive environment" for new investment.
