Congress will tomorrow mark its 130th Foundation Day which comes in the backdrop of the party's sliding base and its disastrous electoral performance this year.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi will preside the function at the AICC headquarters in the national capital where she will unfurl the party flag.

The brief ceremony is likely to begin with the rendition of the 'Vande Mataram' and end with the National Anthem.

The Lok Sabha polls saw the Congress' tally plummeting from 206 in 2009 to a mere 44. It also fared poorly in assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, where it was in power.

Serious deliberations have started in Congress about its ideological pull, connect with masses and form of organisation as the party enters its 131st year tomorrow.

Top leadership of the party will be present at the AICC headquarters.
