The Ludhiana city unit chief of the Congress, Gurpreet Gogi, was today arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in connection with a two-year-old rail traffic blocking case.
He was later released on bail, an RPF spokesperson said.
Gogi was taken into custody by the RPF from his residence at Ghumar mandi locality here.

The spokesperson said a case was registered against Gogi who was leading a protest by Congress workers on May 2, 2015.
It is the fourth arrest by the Ludhiana unit of the RPF in last three months in similar offences, the spokesperson said.
He added that others who were arrested belonged to different political and social outfits.
Congress party activists had blocked the rail traffic near Gurudwara Dukh Nivaran on that day.
