BJP MLA from Kichchha Rajesh Shukla slamming the state government said the move would force the farmers to sell their land to mafias.
The lease holders will have to pay lakhs of Rupees as premium as per the circle rate of November 9, 2000 within six months of the issuance of the Government Order for free-holding
their agriculture land and most of the poor farmers would not be able to arrange the money, Shukla told reporters here.
He expressed the apprehension that the farmers might take help from land mafias to arrange the money and later they would be forced to sell their land to the mafia.
The government is saying that it is giving land ownership rights to farmers but eventually the farmers would become landless, Shukla alleged.
In this regard, he pointed out, the previous governments of undivided Uttar Pradesh had given land ownership rights to people belonging to the Bengali community settled in Kichchha, Sitarganj and Gadarpur area of Udhamsingh Nagar district free of cost or at a nominal price.
