YSR Congress Party President Y S Vijayamma today attacked Congress and TDP, alleging both the parties were generating hatred between the people of Telangana and Seemandhra with their "hasty and imprudent decision" to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing party leaders' dharna at Jantar Mantar here, she narrated the "agony and plight" of the state following the "undemocratic and autocratic decision" of Congress and UPA government.

"The people do not want the state bifurcated. However, the politically-motivated decision of Congress Working Committee for garnering votes and seats has created a rift between the people of the two regions. Both Congress and TDP are only to blame for this agony of the state," Vijayamma said.

She also said Hyderabad city has been built over a period of 60 years with the hard work of people from all regions in the state.

"How far is it justifiable to ask the Seemandhra people to leave the city?" she said.

Vijayamma had led the YSR Congress delegation of MLAs, MLCs, former MPs, senior leaders and its MP to President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday and made a fervent appeal to them to keep the state united if equal justice could not be done to all regions while solving the Telangana issue.

She also submitted representations to the President and the Prime Minister separately drawing their attention to the serious agitation that has erupted in the state in wake of the bifurcation decision.

Vijayamma sought their immediate intervention to provide equal justice to both the regions while solving the Telangana issue.

"How can the decision of bifurcation be made without the important issues of sharing of water, power and other natural resources, revenues, relocation of government employees and the status of Hyderabad city being solved first?" she said and demanded that the process of bifurcation be stopped forthwith till these issue are settled.
