East Singhbhum district Congress Committee (DCC) today observed the 73rd anniversary of Quit India movement and gave a call to launch a 'BJP gaddi chodo' movement.
Addressing party workers DCC president Vijay Khan said Congress had kicked off the Quit India movement on August 9, 1942 to free the country from the clutches of the British rule and ultimately succeeded in 1947.
The Congress should launch a 'BJP gaddi Chodo' campaign (oust BJP) on the same lines to free the country and Jharkhand from ineffective and anti-farmer government headed by the BJP and involve people from all walks of life.
The party would reach out across the districts including rural pockets and mobilise support for it to oust the state government, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, DCC vice-president, Anand Bihari Dubey said law and order of the state was deteriorating and murders and loots were on the rise.
The president of DCC, Seraikela-Kharswan district, Debu Chatterjee said the state government was least bothered about people's problems as it was busy in serving the interest of the capitalists and industrialists.
