CPI(M) also condemned the state government for dropping references to Jawahar Lal Nehru, saying it was attempting to saffronise education.
"This state government is attempting to saffronise education. More than 13000 schools were closed, made mandatory Surya Namaskar during morning assembly, and other such moves show that the government is doing nothing but pushing its agenda," a statement by CPI(M) state unit said.
