Coming down heavily on Congress for rushing the Telangana Bill as "if it is a matter of national urgency", YSR Congress Party today said the party's statements on the date of its tabling were tantamount to influencing the President.
"Congress has been over-enthusiastic on the division process and its statements that the Bill will be tabled in the house on this date amount to influencing the President who is the Constitutional head and is capable of taking decisions on his own," party's deputy floor leader in Assembly Sobha Nagi Reddy told reporters here.
TDP leaders are allowed to speak according to their regional affiliations and they should convince their supremo N Chandrababu Naidu to take pro-united state stand, she said, adding that ironically Naidu, who is meeting national leaders, had no specific demand.

Congress on the other hand seemed to be very vindictive towards the people of Seemandhra, she said.
Meanwhile, YCRCP MLA G Sreekanth Reddy alleged that the nexus between Congress and TDP had once again come to the fore with Naidu fielding two candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections though his party did not have the required numbers.
"The Rajya Sabha polls were due in April but the Congress and TDP have come together and advanced them as they are scared of YSRCP which will give a run for their money and the two parties may not be in a position to win the Rajya Sabha seats," Reddy claimed.
