Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijaywargiya today raked up Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's "khoon ki dalali" remark to accuse him of "playing politics" over suicide of a former armyman, allegedly over One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme.
Taking a dig at Rahul, who had flayed Narendra Modi government over suicide of veteran Ram Kishan Grewal in Delhi yesterday, the BJP national general secretary compared the Congress vice-president with noted comedian, Kapil Sharma.
"People consider Rahul as comedian. But only difference is while watching @KapilSharmaK9, they get happy and by seeing @OfficeOfRG they get angry," he said in a tweet.
In another tweet, Vijaywargiya said, "Lashon par rajniti karne wali Congress Party ke Neta Rahul Gandhi ne desh ko bata diya ki khoon ki dalali kaise karte hain" (the leader of the Congress party which plays politics over dead bodies has told the country how to do 'khoon ki dalali'.)
Grewal's suicide has set off a huge political storm with the Congress, AAP attacking the BJP on the OROP issue.
In the wake of surgical strikes by army in PoK, Rahul had accused the Prime Minister of "khoon ki dalali" over the death of Indian soldiers.
Hitting back at Vijaywargiya, All India Women Congress president Shobha Oza said, "whenever he (Vijaywargiya) feels that he is not visible in national politics, he indulges in issuing such dirty statements to gain cheap publicity."
She defended Rahul for his controversial remarks, saying they are appropriate in current political scenario.
"Vijaywargiya should first see the behaviour of his own party (BJP) which is cashing on the sacrifices of Indian soldiers by patting its back and marketing itself in the name of surgical strikes," she added.
