"Congress is committed for implementation of provisions of 73rd amendment in the state. All the provisions of 73rd amendment should be made applicable in J&K," JKPCC chief Saifuddin Soz said after a party meeting here.

Stressing that Congress is in favour of holding panchayat polls in the state in a democratic manner, Soz said during the meeting, there was a consensus among all party members over the issue.

When asked about coalition partner NC's stand over the issue, he said "I have nothing to do what our coalition partner says. I believe in what Congress says."

Asked whether time was running out to take a decision in this regard, he said time frame has already been set and the party was conscious of it.

"Time frame is already set. We are conscious of the time frame. Nomination date is coming and last date of the same is October 17," Soz said.
