Cong workers' demo against power crisis

Scores of Congress workers today staged a demonstration in Mundka area here protesting long outages in Delhi, raising slogans against BJP and AAP.

The protesters, led by party leader Naresh Kumar, also blocked Rohtak Road during the demonstration, causing traffic jams for several hours.

Accusing BJP and AAP of being responsible for the power crisis, Kumar said Congress workers would not sit silent till power supply normalises.

Meanwhile, Sultanpuri MLA Jaikishan, who sat on a hunger strike yesterday against water and power shortage in his constituency, today broke his fast after assurance by the concerned officials.

According to Congress chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma, Congress workers, under the leadership of Sajjan Kumar, will burn an effigy of Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal at Khanpur Chowk in South Delhi tomorrow and resort to a 'chakka' jam.
 

Sharma said DPCC president Arvinder Singh Lovely will also participate in the chakka jam agitation.
