Congress party workers and farmers today staged demonstration on national highway-56 at Jagdishpur industrial area here against the Centre's "cancellation of Mega Food Park (MFP)" declared by previous UPA government.
The party workers and farmers today protested against the anti-farmer policies of central government, said District Congress Committee (DCC) President Yogendra Mishra who led the march. MLA Radhe Shyam and others also participated in the protest.
The traffic on the national highway was disrupted for around half-an-hour due to the demonstration.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's dream to see his Lok Sabha constituency Amethi emerge as a major food processing hub in the area suffered closure as NDA government cancelled the mega food park project in Amethi on April 11.
