Demanding action against the three BJP-ruled municipal corporations of Delhi for allegedly violating the model code of conduct, state Congress today wrote to the Election Commission (DEC) seeking registration of FIRs against BJP leaders for putting up "unauthorized" advertisements for its PM candidate Narendra Modi.
In a letter to Delhi Election Commission, Delhi Congress also alleged BJP leaders are calling the various pension beneficiaries like the elderly, widows and the handicapped to the party's offices to distribute the pending cheques, and "thereby putting pressure on them to vote for BJP."
Delhi Congress Chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said "over Rs 500 crore advertisement scandal has been directly benefiting BJP and there was no approval for the hundreds of unipoles and advertisement sites put across the main roads and markets of Delhi."
