"Some Congressmen had spotted the chief minister's PA distributing money amongst voters in Hamirpur. But as soon as the matter was reported to police, the police made him to slip," Surinder Singla, former Punjab Finance Minister, alleged at a press conference.

He further claimed that the Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur refused to respond to the allegation when the matter was brought to his notice.

He alleged that no FIR has been registered in this regard.

"A mere Daily Dairy Report (DDR) has been filed and it is not being converted into FIR due to the influence of DC and no effort has been made to nab the PA," he said.

The Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission in this regard, he said.

BJP refuted the allegations, saying with "defeat staring on the face, the Congress is resorting to lies and other unethical practices."

"The allegation that the Chief Minister's PA was spotted distributing money was an imaginary and wild to hide the nervousness of the party," party spokesman Ganesh Dutt said.
