Congress begins polls talks

Senior Congress leader and CWC member Ghulam Nabi Azad, in charge of poll affairs in Kerala, today held preliminary discussions on elections with state party leaders.

Azad, who arrived here last night, met several party leaders and would be meeting more leaders tomorrow.

He took stock of poll preparations and preliminary discussions were held, KPCC President V M Sudheeran told reporters.

Detailed talks would be held later, he added.

Congress heads the ruling United Democratic Front in the state. Matters related to sharing of seats among partners and other issues connected are likely to be taken up soon.

Assembly elections are due in April-May.
