Congress delegation seeks UP Guv's help to curb crimes

The six-member delegation led by senior leader Siraj Mehdi in the memorandum said ever since Akhilesh government came into power, goondas and mafias have been "ruling the roost".

Involvement of those associated with the ruling party in such cases has also come to light, they said.

The delegation said that since the formation of the government, the Samajwadi Party president has himself expressed dissatisfaction over its working 37 times which only goes on to prove the allegations of the opposition parties.

Citing the various cases, they appealed to the Governor to issue necessary directives to the state government for curbing such incidents.
